NYSC Deferment Policy, Requirements And Elegibility For Interested Corp Members

>>>...Advertisement...>>>
Most people are asking the question, whether the they can defer their service and pursue one or two other things before coming for NYSC;
here is the NYSC stand on that:

NYSC DEFERMENT POLICY
.
Only graduates of professional courses - Medical doctors, Lawyers, and Pharmacists are allowed to do their one year professional apprenticeship before enrollment into NYSC scheme.
.
But if a Lawyer, Doctor or the Pharmacist decides to serve before the housemanship/internship, that is also allowed. The age taken into consideration is the age at which the person obtained the Law, Medical or Pharmacist degree. That is, the year that appears on your certificate. That is what NYSC looks out for.
.
In view of the foregoing, graduates of other courses apart from the above-named ones are not allowed to pursue any other programme before coming for NYSC scheme. They must complete their National service and discharged from the NYSC scheme before they can do so.
.
That's all on NYSC deferment policy.
